King’s International
A third consecutive win – King’s International leads the field as Private School Operator of the Year
With its clear ambition to establish a global network of world-leading schools well underway, King’s College School Wimbledon International has now firmly positioned itself as leading the field of successful British school partnerships abroad. Ranked in the top five globally for the International Baccalaureate (with an average score of 41.3 in 2025) and also named one of the top five schools in the world in the HSBC 2025 Global Schools Ranking, King’s College School Wimbledon consistently aims high. Its students have a sustained record of going on to attend leading universities both in the UK and overseas.
It has been a remarkable success story for the international team at King’s too. With excellence at the forefront, the international expansion model has set out exacting standards. These have helped to establish and expand several successful international partnerships including Monaco, Wuxi, Hangzhou, Chengdu and Bangkok, with further developments underway in Vietnam, Shenzhen and Abu Dhabi.
King’s International has now been recognised at the EducationInvestor Awards for three consecutive years, winning both the “Private School Operator of the Year” and “Exporting Excellence” this year; cementing its position as a global leader in delivering authentically British, academically ambitious education.
King’s international expansion is strategic and selective, guided by a mission to design world-leading schools that are highly authentic to the educational excellence of King’s in Wimbledon. With each new school added to the family, students across the network benefit through collaboration, cultural exchange and shared experiences. King’s calls this “learning in a global context”, where both international and UK-based students are enriched through global collaboration such as leadership academies, joint academic research and exchange programmes. Today, after just six years, 7,500 students are part of the King’s International family of schools.
Karl Gross, Managing Director of King’s College School Wimbledon International, said: “Success in the UK school does not guarantee success overseas. Creating best-in-class international schools requires deep expertise and a relentless commitment to excellence. Alongside rapid growth, we have built a highly skilled and ambitious team – one that does whatever it takes to establish world-leading schools with our partners around the globe.”
A standout example is King’s College International School Bangkok, which opened in 2020 with almost 400 students. In just four years it has grown to over 1,500 students, making it one of the most successful super-premium school launches in Asia. The school has already earned ‘Outstanding’ ratings in all inspection categories, is achieving excellent academic results and has attracted over 17,000 teaching applications, clearly demonstrating the appeal of the King’s brand and the strength of its international operating model. The rapid growth in Bangkok, over a relatively short period, can be credited to a unique approach; replicating not just the ethos of King’s, but also its systems, processes and expectations.
Through close alignment with the Wimbledon campus, King’s International is redefining what it means to export educational excellence, establishing schools and communities that are not only successful at launch, but built to thrive, inspire and endure for the long term.
